How Many Earths Fit Inside Jupiter? (And the Sun)

Plays from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode).
How many Earths would fit inside Jupiter? Ten? A hundred? We hung a true-scale Jupiter over a city and started filling planets with moons, then planets with planets, working our way up to the biggest thing in the solar system.
Every count in the video is by volume, at true scale. That means we are asking how much space is inside each world, not how heavy it is. Mercury holds 2.8 Moons, Earth holds 49, and Saturn holds 764 Earths. Jupiter is the big surprise: 1,321 Earths fit inside it.
Then we fill the Sun. It holds 985 Jupiters and about 1.3 million Earths. Along the way you will meet a moon wider than a planet, a day that lasts longer than its year, and a planet-and-moon pair that spin around a point in empty space.
Numbers to remember
1,321
Earths would fit inside Jupiter
Most people guess far too low. A guess of a hundred is off by about twelve hundred.
985
Jupiters would fit inside the Sun
1.3 million
Earths would fit inside the Sun
Counting one Earth every second, with no sleep and no snack breaks, would take about fifteen days.
764
Earths would fit inside Saturn
65,000
Moons would fit inside Jupiter
That is a brand-new Moon every night for the next 178 years.
1.2
Mercuries would fit inside Saturn's moon Titan
Titan is wider than the planet Mercury.
99.8%
of the solar system's mass is in the Sun
Every planet, every moon, and you, is basically leftovers.
